Family Pics 2013

And finally, family pics for this year.

Happy Halloween!

Just some pics from Halloween.  We are in an interesting transition time with trick-or-treating.  I cut it off at 6th grade, so only one got to go this year.  But Josh went to a Halloween dance dressed as a robber, Emmie had a party, Olivia dressed up as an m&m for the school Halloween dance, and Jack was a blue BYU fan man.  We served hot chocolate for trick-or-treating.  Fun times.

Carving Pumpkins

The kids worked hard this year on their pumpkins.  In some ways, having the kids grow up is tough.  But this is not one of them.  I love that they can do this totally unsupervised now.  They did a great job this year and it took no effort on my part.  Yeah for activities done alone!

Fall Concert Time

With three of the four kids in jr. high and high school, it makes for exciting evening activities.  Unfortunately, the girls' choir concert and Josh's band concert were on the same night in different locations.  So we played a little tag team spectating.  I caught all the girls' singing with a little of Josh and Kris caught all of Josh with a little of the girls.

Josh cleaned up really well for his big night.  The girls, on the other hand, were a little more casual.  Olivia had on her school shirt, and one of Emmie's three costume changes included a little zombie action.  It was fun to see them all in action.

Pinewood Derby

OK, October also hosted my LEAST favorite cub scout activity--pinewood derby.  Thanks to Uncle Adam for cutting our car.  Unfortunately, we kept our streak alive of not knowing how to do the wheels.  Jack's car looked awesome.  Too bad it didn't travel very fast.  But at least that's one more down.  Only one more to go--ever!

Emmie's Growing Up!

In the past couple months, Emmie earned her Young Womanhood Recognition Award and was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.  They had a lovely court of honor to recognizer her in Young Womens and she went to the NJHS meeting at the junior high.  Lovely young girl.

BYU Soccer

We took a little trip down to Provo to catch a BYU woman's soccer game.  We picked up our niece Alexandra, who's loving life as a BYU freshman, and had a great time.  And we even got a picture with Jack and some of the basketball team.  Fun times down south.

Finally Back to School!

It's about time I get some things posted.  Here are the back to school pics for this year.  Hard to believe I have a senior in high school.

We started out the school year with our annual back to school meal.  This year we enjoyed a little Cafe Rio.  (When in Utah, ... as they say!)

This year's theme for our family is putting on the whole armor of God.  We did a family home evening activity creating our own armored selves.  Here's Emmie's.  She put a lot of time into it.  She's all armored up.
