A little progress report on the garden. It is coming along nicely, despite the crazy winds we had a couple weeks ago that completely flattened our squash plants. Thankfully, they were stronger than the weather. We have already harvested all Emmie's radishes and enjoyed some cuttings of our lettuce.
We spent a nice night at the park this week. Josh is up at scout camp (so missing from the mix). The kids played on the monkey bars and Jack got some pretty impressive popped blisters on his hands. Emmie ate clover blossoms thanks to the fine example of a friend at the ward party last week. And the kids played in the sand.
Our weather around her has been crazy this year. We have had cold, cold, cold for a good part of this spring and summer. Then last week, the heat hit. We tried to camp out out in the back yard. We put up the tent. We blew up the mattresses. We got in our jammies and settled down to sleep. But when the heat index was still 92 steamy degrees at 10:30 and the kids were still wide awake and miserable, we decided air conditioning was our friend and left the tent tenantless. We will have to try again at a location away from the comforts of home so we don't wimp out! And as to the weather--I guess we had our week of summer. Today, July 1st, it was 67 degrees at 11:00 am for Jack's swimming lessons. Did someone say something about global warming? I haven't seen it.
