{It's already Day 2 of our road trip, but we were exhausted last night so two entries tonight to start off our trip chronicles.}
Day 1--Hitting the Road
This morning we hit the road early, with a big day of driving ahead of us.
Here are the kids, bright eyed and ready for a great week.
We saw a lot of interstate today and a few welcome signs along the way.
We are not gadget junkies in our house, so we always seem to be behind the curve on the latest and greatest contraptions. But we figured with a week full of driving into unknown territory, we might benefit from a basic GPS system. So we hooked her up. And here's what we found out. Kris is not very trusting of our friendly {Australian English speaking--thanks to Josh} GPS lady friend. Every time she would tell us a route to follow, Kris would say, "That can't be right. Get out the map and let me see it." To which I would reply, "If we have a GPS, don't you think we should follow it? We better not be doing this the whole way!" Suffice it to say, the good ol' Atlas has been opened its fair share already this week.
TRIP TIP #1 [according to Jack when it was my turn to drive] "Mom, just listen to the GPS, not like Dad; it probably knows where to go!" OK Jack, I will.
After a quick check in at the first hotel in Ohio {our half way point} and a meal, we hit {one of the highlights of the trip} the pool.
TRIP TIP #2 Always follow the rules when traveling!
The kids had a blast and we put them to bed late and exhausted.
